IT'S A BOY!!

Cletus the Fetus has shown us his...

We're excited! He's 14 oz in weight, and all of his organs are looking good. We got to see the bladder, kidneys, heart, cranium, and his little hands and feet. His hot-tub of amniotic fluid is just right and keeping him oh so comfy. Cletus is also a very squirmy dude. I haven't felt much yet, but he's moving around in there like a boss.

Now I'm a bit less pleased with my placenta. It's just fine but it's hanging out right over my cervix, aka placenta previa. Something to keep an eye on for certain. I'm hoping it decides to move on up, but we'll see. It could mean a c-section birth - the "escape hatch" is always an option!

  1. Mendy here -

You're so early, they can't tell anything definite at all about your placenta.

  2. I'll second Katie. My placenta was also blocking the escape hatch, every ultrasound through the middle of my eighth month, I think. All was just fine. The docs never called it placenta previa, because they said that it was still too soon to tell. Don't stress about it--I did and it was definitely a waste of energy.

  3. That is very reassuring you two. I have a lot more hope that it will move out of the way on it's own as the pregnancy progresses.

Maybe I will sing to my uterus, just for fun. 'Movin on up, to the Eastside...'
